Cat turns up on weatherman's set

A cat wandered onto the set of a live weather forecast by Germany's leading meteorologist Joerg Kachelmann.

Kachelmann had just started his two-minute forecast when the cat appeared - but he scooped it up and finished his forecast.

The worlds most expensive cat?

The most expensive cat in the world is said to be a Bengal named Cato, belonging to the British celebrity Cindy Jackson. In 1998 she bought a second generation Bengal (F2) from the breeder Esmond Gay. Some sources claims she paid £25.000, while the UK magazine Fat Cat claims she "only" paid £6.000.

In 2003 Cato's breeder claimed to have bred a cat worth £100,000 but this has never been confirmed. The story about Zeus (to the right) however, got a lot attention in the media and may have contributed to the growing popularity of the Bengal in the UK.

Esmond Gay was a highly controversial breeder and he closed down his cattery in 2004. The Gayzette Bengals cattery (Scotland) has published some of his articles on their website.
