Cat Shows

We've never been very enthusiastic about taking photos at the cat shows. There are always lots of things to do, bringing the cats back and forth to the judges, and we’re actually never been able to catch the characteristic atmosphere on a photo. Therefore we usually prefer to use the video camera.

Here’s a small collection of photos from Norwegian and Swedish cat shows covering the period 2006 to 2008.

Ingvild and the Dreamworks Cats

Our daughter Ingvild has always been mad about cats. As a small child she used the house cat as pillow at night, and when they had lunch together the poor fellow was placed on a chair at the table, fully supported with tableware and the same kind of baby bib as she used.

The Dreamworks Warriors

Two sweet girls from Miss Kitty and Emilio’s second litter named after Ang Lee’s wuxia inspired epic movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Crouching Tiger (spotted) now lives in Oslo, while Hidden Dragon (marbled) moved to Trondheim.

Photographing cats is very demanding. For each photo worth saving, tens will be trashed. But just like people, some cats seem to be more photogenic than others. And for some reason we’re always more successful with Emilio than the other cats. Here’s a collection of photos taken during the years.

We took Emilio and Saffy for a visit to Kongro, and here is the result.

(N)Tipard Miss Kitty

Our first Bengal cat came to us in spring 2004. At that time there were probably not more than 200-300 Bengal cats in Norway. No one in the neighbourhood had ever seen anything like her; a spectacular and exotic little creature, breathtaking beautiful and very affectionate. Here are some photos taken during the years she stayed with us.

Dreamworks Vanilla Sky, or Miss Cookie as we usually call her, is marbled. She, and her sister Vanilla Fling, were born October 7, 2007.

Here are some photos to show how she’s developed from being a sweet kitten to a grownup beauty with golden eyes.

The Dreamworks Pirates 

Three tiny pirates – Black Pearl, Tia Dalma and Captain Jack Sparrow – were born 18th November 2007. They didn’t have a very good start in life, as their mummy ran off the minute they were born. She showed absolutely no interest for her babies, so we had to feed them from a baby bottle for several weeks.

Nevertheless, they came through this difficult period very well and grew up to be very beautiful and extremely affectionate cats. Two of them are still staying with us. In this gallery they are 11-12 weeks old, eagerly trying to catch a toy.

These beautiful photos of Miss Kitty as a youngster were shot by her breeder, Mr Stig Grimsgaard.

Stig is a very gifted amateur photographer, and in this simple everyday story you can sense the rapid change of emotions that makes these animals so fascinating.
